Mama Bird

A Mama Bird

In the spring, when everything is new
And the sky is beautiful and blue
A bird busies herself to build a nest
She lays her eggs and keeps them warm under her breast
She sits faithfully waiting for her eggs to hatch.
Then she goes looking for worms and bugs to catch.
Feeding her young hatchlings is her main concern
Until their feather wings they earn.
She then teaches them to fly
Soaring through the sky
They fly off into the sun
Her work is finally done.
